Ronnie Adkins, father to Kai Adkins, North Vernon, Indiana - I would like to take a moment to recognize my husband, Ronnie. He is the father to our seven children--our youngest, Kai who is 16 months old, has Alobar HPE. My husband reminds me with actions that it is important to play. Yes, play! I spend so much time monitoring everything for and about Kai that I forget to just play. My husband, Ronnie, tickles Kai, blows raspberries on Kai's tummy, lifts him up and down in the air, makes silly face and noises, all while Kai is laughing, giggling, and smiling. My husband was even the first one that got Kai to make an actual laughing sound. Ronnie. My husband. My rock. My entertainment center for Kai. The one who shows me that playing is important, and Kai thinks so too. I love you! (Submited by Tonya Adkins)
H. Alton "B" Bryant, father to Cameron Bryant, Lynchburg, Virginia - At first, Cam's dad had a hard time and still does at times dealing with Cameron's disorder and the things he goes through. But I have never met a man who is so protective over one person. If someone looks at him wrong, he wants to know is there a problem. If Cam is not having a good day at school, he wants to know if anyone did something to him. Alton, I just want to let you know that we appreciate you so much. Cameron lights up with joy whenever he sees you. Thank you for not turning and running the other way but for standing strong and being the man and father that you were born to be. Although you do understand why we were chosen to be Cameron's parents but because we have stood in there and taken care of him as we should, God will bless us tremendously!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Words cannot explain how thankful Cameron is to have a father like you. (Submitted by Taunya Bryant)
Casey M. Tucker, father to Harley Tucker (11 months), Odessa,Texas - I wanted to take a few moments to recognize Harley's father. From the moment we met, he has taught me to enjoy life, laugh, and smile. Casey has not only been a great father to Harley and her brother Richard, but he has also taken in my daughter Mackenzie like she is his own. He goes above and beyond to make sure that our family has everything we need. He has taken on the role of the sole provider for our family and never complains or acts like it is an inconvience. I know that this past year has been full of changes, hardships, and bumpy roads, but having him by my side is what gets me through each day. I may not always say it but I thank him so much for being a great provider, father, and friend. He is my rock, and I am very thankful that he was put into our lives. We love you. Don Pendleton, father to Paige Pendleton (1 year), Redding, California - Don, Thank you for being such a wonderful husband and father. You are so supportive through everything. You are my rock. I know when I am not there the kids are in great hands. Cheyenne, Skylar, Paige and Marie-Rose all adore you. I love to see the smiles on the kids' faces and their squeals of joy when you come home from work at night. Whether you're playing with them like a kid yourself, or taking care of them, or calling me to make sure you're doing things right, you are always an amazing father. We love you all the way to Heaven and back. (Submitted by Raina Pendleton)
Brandon Wehrly, father to Brenna Marie Wehrly, San Leandro, California I would like to take a moment to recognize my husband Brandon Wehrly. He is not only my best friend, but he is truly my rock and without him I would be an emotional wreck. I knew from the moment we met that we would be together and have kids. God gave us two beautiful girls, Ashley (3 1/2) and Brenna (born into heaven 05.02.07). He stays strong when I'm a wreck and gives me love when I'm down. I love to see Ashley's face light up when he comes home. I can remember like yesturday the way his face lit up as he held Brenna Marie in the hosptial. The way he laid there with her as we said our goodbyes. He is a hard worker, never complians, absolutely adores his girls (mommy, Ashley and Brenna). We would not trade him in for anything in this whole world. We love you, Daddy. (Submitted by Brandie Wehrly) |
